A practical routine for reviewing Railway mock tests
RuleMithra ·
A mock test is useful when it shows what to revise next. Set aside time for review before starting the paper, and read its timing and negative-marking instructions.
Before the test Choose one exam category and check its syllabus. Keep the session free from interruptions. Use the published paper instructions rather than assuming every departmental examination follows the same pattern.
After submission Sort uncertain answers into three groups: a rule you did not know, a rule you misread, and a question you could not finish in time. For each rule-based error, record the source, rule number and applicable amendment. A short revision note is more useful than copying the entire explanation.
Check the evidence If the explanation and the cited rule appear to disagree, use the question-report option. Include the question reference and the relevant official provision. Do not rely on an old answer key merely because it appears in several practice books.
Plan the next session Revisit a small set of weak topics before taking another full paper. Try explaining why the incorrect options are wrong. Keep separate notes for knowledge gaps and time-management problems so you can work on each directly.
